Instagram has been testing multiple features and as per the platform head, the company is working on another collaborative feature for general users. The feature will let users’ friends add content to their posts.

This means that when users are about to post photos on your profile, Instagram will give them the option to let followers submit their own photos and videos that they want to include.

“New test alert. We just started testing a new way to invite friends to join in on your feed posts. Before posting a carousel, you can turn on the ability for your followers to submit photos and/or videos, which you can approve to add to the post,” Mossari said in a post on his Instagram Channel.

It must be noted that users; friends’ posts will not be automatically added to the carousel and the one who has posted the content must approve each photo and video before they’re added. According to a screenshot shared by Mosseri, collaborative carousels will have an “add to post” button in the bottom-left corner.

Use case of this feature
It happens that when people go on a vacation, every person in the group clicks their own set of pictures so everyone may not have all the pictures of the trip. This feature will be an option to share memories of such a trip that you have taken together.

Furthermore, people can also collaborate by allowing others to post pictures of the monuments they have visited. Instagram already allows users to collaborate by enabling them to share feed posts or Reels. Furthermore, users can also share and save images and videos with up to 250 people.

Recently, the company started testing the ability to post selfie videos in Notes.

“Soon, people will be able to update their default profile photo in Notes with a short, looping video. You’ll still be able to share a thought via text to accompany the video. If you start seeing videos in Notes, let us know what you think!” Mossari said.
