Live photos on Instagram refer to a feature that allows users to share photos that have been captured using the “Live Photo” mode on their iPhone. When a Live Photo is posted on Instagram, it appears as a still image, but when users press and hold the photo, it comes to life and plays a short video clip of the moments before and after the photo was taken.

To share a Live Photo on Instagram, users simply need to upload it as they would any other photo from their camera roll. However, keep in mind that this feature is currently only available on iPhone devices with iOS 9.0 or later. As Apple introduced this feature in September 2016 when the company launched the iPhone 6s series.

Open the Photos app on your iPhone.

  1. Select the photo you want to turn into a Live Photo.
  2. Swipe up on the photo to reveal the photo options.
  3. Tap the “Live” option to turn the photo into a Live Photo.
  4. Press and hold the photo to see it come to life with motion and sound.
  5. Note: Live Photos are only available on iPhone 6s or later, and you need to have the “Live Photo” option enabled in your camera settings.

To post a live photo from your iPhone on Instagram, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Instagram app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the “+” icon at the bottom center of the screen to create a new post.
  3. Select the Live Photo you want to post from your camera roll.
  4. Once you have selected the photo, you will see a set of options at the bottom of the screen. Swipe up on the screen to reveal the “Live” option.
  5. Toggle the “Live” option to the off position. This will turn off the live aspect of the photo and turn it into a regular photo.
  6. Edit the photo as you normally would, by adding filters or adjusting the brightness, contrast, and other settings.
  7. Add a caption and any other desired tags or location information.
  8. Finally, tap the “Share” button to post your photo on Instagram.

Conclusion
That’s all. You have now successfully posted a live photo on Instagram.
